2002 VUE 2.2L
Default 2002 Saturn vue radiator fan stays on once vehicle started

Ok we will start with the initial problem, two weeks has passed since i first notice my radiator fan was turning on as soon as i started my vehicle and not shutting off for the duration of use despite a/c and fan set to off, but shuts off when the car is off...I replaced the cooling fan high relay two days ago. not only did it not fix the issue it seems to have made things worse, now when i have the fan on (does not matter the number i set it to) it is ok. Now if i push the a/c button and turn it on (one through four) it makes my car bog down and almost kills it...( while it's idle...ie: when clutch is pushed or in neural) when driving it seems sluggish if a/c is on... just the fan on it seems to run ok...it's my first forum post anywhere for anything so hopefully i was descriptive enough any thoughts?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

There is a section for Vue's.

One possibility for constant fan run is a engine cooling sensing problem.

The ECM will operate cooling fan if there is a sensor problem as protection against overheating engine.

Have you noticed any changes in coolant gauge indication?

I'm sort of lost when your explanation moves to HVAC fan and settings 1 - 4. I don't think you're indicating these settings affects engine cooling fan - are you?

The AC compressor will "load" engine to some extent but only you will know for sure if performance has changed. Do you notice any signs of engine missing at any point?

...
I rarely visit forum but respond to private messages (PM). PM creates email to phone & please include email address with question. Avoid using Visitor Message feature ... I almost never check those.
