Default windshield washer pump won't stop

Just started today. Windshield washer kept spraying until reservoir ran out. I could still hear the motor operating until I got home.

I'm sure it's just a relay switch or something, but short term can I just disconnect that plug attached to the reservoir?

Thanks

That or pull the fuse in the IPJB. You'll loose your windsheild wipers though as they are on the same circuit. If you pull the connector it may be a good idea to wrap it to keep moisture out.

Worked like a charm. Thanks again.

I probably should have said this is a 1995 SL1, with ~222,000 miles. I guess things like this will happen.

The pump control is part of the entire motor system. You can try cleaning the connector and socket and it might fix it or just replace it now and avoid the rush later.

I'm pretty sure OldNuc's referring to the windshield wiper motor located under the cowl at the bottom of the windshield. On the motor is a controller unit that causes all sort of issues when it's on its way out. To remove it you need to take the top of the dash off to access the nuts that hold the wiper assembly in.
