2002 SL2
Default Re: Oil Filter Location

Im surprised no one has tried a right angle oil filter adapter....

You could then use a ginormous Wix 51515 / Fram 8a filter...

Or an even larger Wix 51773...

...
2002 Silver SL2, manual, 5th gear swap (.605), 80,000 miles, black badges,
205/60R15 "H" rated tires, 5mm spacers rear...
Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30, NAPA 41516...
NGK BKR6E-11 spark plugs

I don't do acrobatics.

I put the car up on the lift, place the 25 gallon drain tank ) adjustable funnel height) underneath - pull the pan plug - then the filter.

I give it 20 minutes or so. I'm not in a hurry.

And it gives me time bro give the underside a good looking over...

If I ever build a place, it will have at least one lift. But for now crawling under is the way it goes.

This has been on my "when I have an extra $2,000 laying around" shopping list for a while (pretty far down ). Would come in handy several times a year but not quite worth buying, yet. Gotta wait for the youngest to graduate college

It is totally safe...if used correctly and per the instructions. Saw a guy try to knock a jeep over on it...it is extremely stable. No issues with it. Do your research...it is fine.
