Question 95 SL1 Cruise Installation

Hey everyone! I wanted to take up a project to install cruise in my 95 sl1. I recently ran to the junkyard and grabbed a cruise module from a 94 sl1 and the steering switches from a 97 sl1. I plugged them both in and tried running without the airbag so I know it works before I cut up my steering wheel. So far I've got a light on the steering switches when I turn cruise on so thats getting power but the module seems to not be working correctly.

There is a lot of different information about cruise control and whether it gets its info from the pcm or not. I believe that because I got the module out of a 1st gen saturn, it doesn't need pcm information. I have no idea whether my car is actually wired up to communicate with a 94 module but everything fit well and it attached to the gas pedal correctly.

I'm wondering if the issue is because I'm missing a clutch switch. I have the safety switch on the floor for starting the car but I did a little research and I think there might be a switch above the clutch to tell the cruise when the clutch is all the way up. Can anyone confirm this info?

I attached some pictures of the clutch. First picture is of a mysterious cable looming above the clutch and the second is of the switch on the floor. Anyone know if I can test this mystery cable by jumping it and seeing if my cruise works?

Thanks in advance

Just tried jumping that cable with a paperclip. It didn't have any affect on the cruise. Now I'm not sure what to do next.

Did you drive the car to see if the cruise control works?

It should not set and hold a speed until you hit about 30 MPH.

If the cruise module is in fact good and it doesn't engage the PCM might need to be programmed to see the cruise option.

Yes I did try. I went up to 45mph but it would not engage.
