Be careful with YouTube. Mods to European Astras aren't always compatible with our North American cars. While it is true that the CID and OEM nav head unit from Europe can technically be installed in our cars, the nav maps for North America simply don't exist.

Yes I am not planning on changing the CDC

I will just change the CID and add a computer PC or GPS Box and run Igo on it

The only problem i am having that stopping me, i cant find the new screen benzel (the 6.5" screen plastic surrounding it that mount in the dashboard) the colored screen benzel is different than the one we have in the car, it doesnt have that pyramid shape lines toward the screen like the OEM, I cant find it anywhere

anyone can help or know where to buy it?

I seem to find alot now!

First the perfect gps box for this car, call KB900, it has gps, bluetooth calling with Name and full access to phone book on screen as well as allow reverse camera to be plugged to it

Its not expensive too, Its 220USD shipped with astra reverse camera that replace the license plate lamp and also the 6.5 touch screen panel

i found now through a russian forum half way on the same set how people did it
http://astraclub.ru/threads/32911-%D...1%8B%D0%B9-CID

I just have 4 problems if some poeple can help, since this forum is russian:

1- Dissamble the screen to install the touch panel in it (in the russian forum its says its in the faq but i never found it)
2- the wiring of this over all, and specially that they use the CDC like BC button to switch between the main interface and the gps interface which they solider them with the OCIDVI-Ah interface board that you need to buy
3- hiding the gps antenna and installing the speaker that comes with the device ( i think i can hide the gps on the top of the center speaker under the cover, but the speaker that comes with it is the problem) any suggestions???
4- finding the OEM bezel for the 6.5" Color CID, which i cant find anywhere

Help is much appreciated

Is this what you're looking for? I searched for "Astra CID" on the German ebay and a few results came up.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Astra-H-Einba...item5d33f5d282

From reading about custom AV installs on the uk forums, yeah you're gonna need that interface card to be able to output video onto the CID. There's a user on VXR online that makes his own interface adapter card, since he claims the available aftermarket one is not the greatest.

Project sounds very cool, keep us posted.

Thank you So much, now you solved one of the Main problem, i couldnt find it anywhere eventhough i looked in ebay.de

Thanks

I also found a guide for who to disassemble the CID
http://www.microsofttranslator.com/b...%2Fcid_av.html

http://www.microsofttranslator.com/b...se_consol.html

I am posting links to them so it might help someone also

so now i have 2 out of my 4 questions answered

Any idea about the wire diagram for these? and also i have seen some have the color CID and the A/C shows on it, does it require special programing?!
