new driver seat options

is it possible to get a brand new driver seat? mine was trashed from a larger person owning the car before me. it was messing with my upper back, making it ache since the bottom was so sunken in. is there anywhere that sells new seats? or is my best bet a junkyard?

also, would i be able to switch the brackets on a passenger seat to fit? they never have as many miles of sitting on them :b my passenger seats is extremely comfortable. just wondering. any input is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Someone did a writeup on here about restuffing the seats with new foam to make them more comfortable, maybe you could try that. As for the passenger seat, I believe the reclining controls and all that would be on the wrong side.

Also, I don't know this firsthand, but the general consensus here is that the Sx2 seats are far more comfortable than the Sx1

it is possible. i switched my driver seat to a racing seat a few years back. then, i swapped that extra seat into a different s-series car because i liked it better than the one it had. you can find seats cheap at junk yards. pay close attention to the seatbelt and the seatbelt connectors. some years have a different buckle design and/or attachment point...

I also thought about swapping passenger and drivers seats. I could care less if the controls are on the "wrong side" since I rarely use them anyway.

The swap guide in the Tech section lists what parts of the seat are interchangeable. Just use the thread tools/ "search this thread" to search for 'seat'

Your bottom foam might just be pushed down past the wires that support the seat... can firm it up and/or add foam following these instructions

but yeah, the SC2/SL2/SW2 seats are nicer. Lumbar support, woot! (I always have mine at full support - only the driver side has the adjustable lumbar support)

with a little luck at the junkyard and a little fabrication, these seats from other cars will work
