My daughter dropped her gamecube games under the back seat of our 2006 ion sedan. However they are unreachable. I simply cannot find any information on how to remove the seat and it seems locked in place. Does anyone have information or diagrams? Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanx Denis |

2) See hinge on the outside pivot point, there's a "spring" of metal you need to push in, then pull the seat towards you and it'll come out 3) pull up on console area, HARD 4) pull up on seat area, HARD. There are some metal bars right underneath the seats near the front, that's what you should pull on. hope that helps.

Ok, I know this is old but to help anyone in the future...
It is really, really easy to remove the rear seat cushion. You just push the bottom of the seat cushion in and lift up. Keep rear seat back in upright position. You need to unlatch the rear seat cushion at 2 points, which are at the center of each seating position. You just squish the seat cushion towards the back of the car, right at the bottom where it meets the carpet and lift up. That half of the seat will popup, then repeat for other side. It takes maybe 5 seconds to do. You won't beleive how easy it is 'till you try it. This is how many, many cars mount there rear seat cushions. |

Hello all,
Just went through the process of rear seat cushion removal on my 2008 Astra SE 5 door. Simple...of course if you know how, and now I do. There are (2) little plastic tabs protruding slightly from beneath the front of the rear seat cushion. These are the tabs you need to pull to release the seat upwards. Here's the catch: you must pull towards you, but also DOWNWARD, rather than just straight out. I couldn't find anything in the owner's manual, so almost broke catch, trying to figure out how it worked. Once the seat was out it was easy to see. Good luck...hopes this helps someone else! |

Thanks for this thread!
I accidentally left my windows open yesterday when the sky opened up. The rain proceeded to fill my passenger side seats with about 5 gallons of water. Right now I have the front and rear seats out and all the carpet is up and drying in the hot summer sun. I hope everything dryes and that the car isn't ruined by a musty odor. ![]() Info from this thread really helped with removing the back seat. ![]()

Anyone know how to remove the headrest MOUNT not the head rest that you just push in a clip and pull out but the actual Mount(plastic peace) that keeps the rest in place I got all the way to removing the clip that I suppose is only aesthetics and to hide the hole underneath, what i found was just more plastic into a metal tube. Now I'm guessing the only way to remove that single part I need to completely remove the poetic backing plate which I saw had the leather stapled onto it and rivets keeping it in place. Is there something I can't see out haven't thought of? Any help would be awesome. Thank you!
