So its been about two weeks since something last broke, so it was about time for something else to break...
![]() Big ass blob of grease from where the CV axle slides into the intermediate shaft. I thought there is no grease at this joint?? How would this happen?

I'm no expert, but could it be from that oil filter right above it? By the way, what brand is that. Cool blue gripping part.

its definitely not oil. Is the bearing in the intermediate shaft packed with grease? Thinking maybe that is the cause.

A little googling reveals that the CV joint needs grease to keep from wearing. The CV boot is packed with the stuff.
By the way, I've read that you've got to keep oil away from the shaft. Odd place for GM to put that oil filter if that's the case. Isn't it? |

I am also having an issue of clunking while turning, its intermittent. This could possibly be related.

The actual CV joint can be broken internally and allow grease to go where you're seeing it leaking out.
I'd suggest you replace the half shaft.

i bet this grease come from the intermediate shaft bearing since the cv joint boot is to far from there and on the pic the grease seem to come from the bearing.

The intermediat shaft bearing uses CV Type grease in it with a seal. Chances are that the seal is damaged. You should be able to get a seal kit from Saturn witha new seal and grease. The seal can be a pain to get in properly so install it carefully. There is no decent room when done in car without the right install tool so it may be worth removing the shaft to do the work.
