While on break, I figured I would recline back and put my seat all the back so I could lay back. After about 40 minutes, I went to put the seat back and nothing happened. NONE of the buttons work anymore! I cant go forward or put the recline back up. The UP/down button thats also on the side of the seat is stuck. I cant push the Up button down at all. Like its jammed. The recline and forward/back buttons can be pushed but nothing happens.
Whats going on? How can I fix this? Is it a fuse? 2003 Saturn 300 Drivers side power seat |

Yes, This seat is fused. Look on the passenger side kick panel fuse box. Even if the fuse looks good, it would not be a bad idea to replace with another one of the same rating. Since this fuse is hot/live all the time, disconnect your battery before you remove this fuse.
The other possibility is that the seat switch is bad. Try the fuse 1st and report back. |

There is another option. I'm pretty sure the power seat fuse is 20 amps. Look and see if there is another non critical system that will allow you to "Borrow" that 20 amp fuse for this test.
If you have an owners manual, it will show you what other systems are protected by a 20 amp fuse. Removing a known good 20 amp fuse from another slot, may allow you to test it now without going to the auto parts store. Do not try and start or drive the car while you have this "Borrowed" fuse removed. Remember, the power seat fuse is hot all the time so there is no reason for you to even try and start or drive the car. |

Blown fuses are not normal. When one blows, you want to know why. In this case, you may have held the button down too long to get the seat all the way down. When the motor stalls, it uses a lot more current.
