Default Motor Mounts

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the most miserable knuckle busting, how hard is it to replace lower engine mounts on a 96 SL2? I've done the upper and I figure that was about a 3.

I just did it on my SC2 96. Its not too hard. The only trick (if there is one) is that as the engine raises the torque mount wants to rotate it forward at the same time. This means that when you put the new one it, don't bolt it down. Set it down at an angle, cocked to the left so as you lower the engine, it will rotate to align with the new mount. Everything will look really cocked to the left (front of the car) but as you lower the engine everything rotates correctly and lines up (again, remember you are rotating against the torque mount).

BTW: I'm assuming you are talking about the foot mount under the tranny. If you are talking about the torque mount under the engine that is probably a 1. You may even be able to do it without raising the engine ( I did a bit but not sure it was necessary). The torque mount under the crank does not appear to be under any load what-so-ever when the engine is not torquing under load.
