you'll have crank timing pickup issues if you keep the 97 computer/ignition module. And you'll need an adaptor to run the 97 egr valve, and troubles with the injectors too. And the fuel rail/pressure will be different. And the OBDII will complain, and if you rig the 92 computer you'll fail inspection if you have it.

Eljfino sums it.

If you want to swap the motor, fine. You'll need to swap out the injector wiring harness for the donor car as well as the PCM. You'll likely need to swap the exhaust header, possibly the whole system as well, check it carefully. If you can salvage the exhaust you'll still have the second O2 sensor hanging there. Also bear in mind that motor after the swap may not conform to '97 emissions specs. If you have annual testing in your area that would become a major headache for you. I know I have a '94 DOHC in my '92 and am still trying to debugg the car.

I'd suggest getting a '97 motor. You'll still have to swap the harness with the computer but should be able to dodge the rest of the emission's issues.

PS don't purchase from 6th Planet.

If you havent bought the engine yet, then dont. Get a 1993+ motor, considerably less headaches.
