Question 99 block with 92 head

Is it possible to put an early MY cylinder head on a 99 block?

Gotta use a 92 computer. And everything that connects to the head has to be 92-spec as well.

Do not use a 91-92 computer with a 99 block. The notch the CPS uses is in a different spot (roughly 30 different). Check for compatibility between a 93-95 PCM and the 99 crank.

YES. If the car is a 99' (using a 99' PCM) and the head is ANY year prior but not after 99', the ONLY issue will be fuel rail and EGR mounting. The fuel rail can be relatively easily adapted to work and there IS an adapter plate (a 94' part) that will allow a newer (99') EGR valve to mount to an older head. You will have an extra coolant temperature sensor in an earlier head used on an OBD2 (96' and up) car. It can just be left unconnected with no issues.

what kind of compression change would you have?(if any)or is it cause you want the 92 factory header to mount?

A 92' header WILL mount to a 94' head but NOT to a 00' or UP head..A 94' head on a 99' block will yield normal factory compression ratios. Cylinderheads changed in 00' IF your car has a PLASTIC intake manifold and VERTICALLY mounted throttle body you have the "new" style (00' and up) head. (junk)
