Default Somebody stole my lugnut covers!

Lugnut covers... I think that's what they are called... You know, the grey plastic (?) things that go on top of the lugnuts.

Are these something I can still buy at a parts store? What's the part number?
Or would they be an item to rescue from a salvage yard? Are they a Saturn-style, or can they be found on other cars?

What are the consequences of driving around without those in place?
They took 3. Some people are so inconsiderate

Good luck finding the hub cap. I've been looking for a year and have yet to find them.

No problems running without them.

Yeah, no issues running without them. I'm making a junkyard run this weekend, I'll see if I can snag a few.

Thanks for letting me know that no harm will come from running without them for a while. I tend to worry too much.

I guess it would be useful to know if these are a Saturn-only size/style. If they can be found on other cars, that would widen our choices at the salvage yard.

Do you have hubcaps? If so, aren't the lugnut covers attached to the hubcap itself? Or is that what you're trying to say?

I put four snap-on hubcaps on my SL...they all fell off. They don't sell new ones that are not snap-on (at least not cheap) and there's no U-pick-it near me, so I'm rocking the disgusting rusty looking steelies with no apparent end in sight.

Most auto parts stores sell replacement lugnut covers. Never purchased any personally but I don't see why they shouldn't work.

Are you talking about just the nut covers or the center cap of the wheel that looks like a continuation of the polished/brushed alloy wheel surface?

If its just the nut covers - why not get new fancy nuts?

I'm talking about these things inside the four holes. See red arrow:

(That's not actually my wheel. I "borrowed" the photo from the 'net)

Dummo: I have lots of nuts in the fridge. Unfortunately, they won't fit.

Thanks, reddash!
Now I know where to find them if I'm not successful at the JY.

Looks like they're all black. So I guess originally mine were also black? They're grey now... I guess they have faded quite a bit in 21 years.

I ordered a used set of 4 OEM plastic hubcaps for 15" wheels (like yours) off of ebay a few months back to replace 1 that was cracked and 1 that was dinged. Cost me about $45 IIRC.

I bought 2 wheel cover ~5 yrs ago when RA sold them. The came with black nut covers. I just swapped in the original bolt covers that clip into the plastic wheel cover. I don't see any reason why you couldn't just grab a can of Krylon and spray change them to silver/gray?

I just bought 10 of them from RockAuto.com (they come 5 to a box). They are black, which my old ones were gray. In the case of my painted art hub caps, it didn't matter all that much to me, though I suppose one could paint the nut covers gray to match if one wanted.

Many years ago I lived in El Cajon, CA, for a while. There was a store, Chucks Used Hub Caps. They had a bumper sticker as well: "Chucks Used Hub Caps - We cover your nuts!"
