2007 AURA XR
Thumbs Up NEW (used) 2007 Aura XR owner!

Aloha fellow Aura owners,

I am proud to announce that I recently took ownership of a blue 2007 Aura XR with the 3.6 V6 engine and practically all known options. Bought it for $11,000 w/ 37k miles on the ticker.

Prior to the sale, I considered other vehicles, but never to my imagination a Saturn, but after the test drive I literally fell in love. In my opinion, it feels better than the Altima I drove as well.

I was pleasantly surprised with the response of the the V6, paddle shifters, leather seats and the selling point - remote start! The 18's are beautiful, the ride is sporty and overall package is complete. I moved on from my 1995 SVT Mustang Cobra which I still own and drive, but I need to say what a departure from the stang.

The same day I got my Aura, it went straight to the tint shop and layed out 20% all around minus the front windshield. I have learned alot about my vehicle via this website for example, the laminated front windows and windshield - I am very impressed with my purchase.

Upcoming updates to the Aura will be debadging, lip spoiler, H&R drop/KYB struts & shocks, Bridgestone RE670's, HID's, LED replacement bulbs for turn signals and possible intake (more than likely stick with K&N drop-in).

Pics to come as the Aura will be going through an extensive detail including engine, interior and exterior.

May I add, I already put my friend away with his 2007 GLI - he was blown away by the Aura.

Thanks for your time and any response will be appreciated.

Sweet price for a lot of car. Enjoy it! Most of us do. Even if you had the 3.5L you'd be happy. Its a strong motor itself. I never got to test an XR. I'd be having too much fun now if I had.

20% is the way to go. Just right.

Thanks, I totally love it. At first I was a bit hesitant but I am glad I chose this vehicle over a over priced Civic - no comment to that!

I just need to get rid of these POS GY LS2 tires, worse tires ever. Goodyears all together are poor tires. Always liked BFGoodrich or Bridgestones.

Gonna get my HID's installed at the end of this month, pics will surely follow.

We all feel that HID's were missing in this car. Nice choice you got more car for your money. The Japanese imports are way over priced in the used car market(I'm not sure about new car). Almost any car will last a long enough time if maintance is followed. My old Sw2 still going with ~230k miles.

HID's would have taken this car to the top among other minor additions, such as a rear seat armrest, bluetooth and dual zone A/C. Overall, awesome package.

Maintenance is key to the life of any vehicle, well just about any vehicle. I got a 1996 SVT Cobra with about 150k and still going strong.

Congratulations.

What a BEAUTIFUL Aura. You got a great price on it also! This car will serve you will for many years to come.

I have to say, hands down, that the 2007 Aura XR in Midnight Blue was my FAVORITE Aura combination... I love my Aura in white, but the '07 midnight blue was so beautiful. In my opinion, it was a mistake for GM to change the shade of blue for '08 and '09.

Great to have you around!

I must agree, the midnight blue on this Aura is beautiful goes well with the black leather. My Aura is going into an auto salon next weekend, to get the paint worked up and protected as well as shampoo the carpets and condition the leather. Although I got 20% tint and it's mostly under a garage out of direct sunlight. I want to ensure its well protected. =)

Happy Re: NEW (used) 2007 Aura XR owner!

I would heartily recommend the Bridgestone RE960 Pole Position tires. Even though these are all season tires they do great in the dry as well as the wet. I have been unable to engage the ABS with these tiers during a dry panic stop test due to their extreme adhesion. Huge performance increase over the OEM Goodyears. I have about 10,000 miles on the tires now - still awesome. BTW, I have lived in Tucson, AZ for the last 7500 miles on the tires. P.S. I have no connection to Bridgestone other than being a recent happy customer.

I was actually looking at those tires on tirerack.com, thread design looks really aggressive for an A/S tire. However, since I live in Hawaii weather conditions here are normally like summer, so I'm considering the Bridgestone RE760 Sports.

Happy Re: NEW (used) 2007 Aura XR owner!

I just recently tossed some new tires on my AURA. First, I upgraded to the XR 18" wheels, then I bought a set of Hankook Optimo H727.

I really like these tires. I was impressed with the performance of the stock 17" Hankooks on my AURA when I bought it, so I decided to give these a look.

I am so impressed with the performance. They look great, handle very well, and most importantly to me, they are extremely quiet. They have a 100k mile tread rating, which is even better! I picked them up at PepBoys, $138.99 ea. They were running a buy three, get one free special, so I got $138.99 back, and a $30.00 PepBoys Gift Card!

I have put nearly 10k on them already and they are showing now signs of wear!

I seriously doubt they'll last 100k. Typical life for a tire on a Aura is 40-50k with proper care.

You got yourself a great deal on your XR. Many people pay that much or more for an Aura XE model.

One word of advice... Be easy on the brakes... The OEM rotors are horrible and don't take too many hard stops to warp them.

Learned from experience, 110mph down to 60 in 2-3 seconds = VIBRATIONS!

I snapped some pics of the XR at the beach today.

This may be true, but I got 57k out of my OEM 17" Hankooks! It was worth a shot!

You are easy driver. Usually by the time I have 40-50k on a tire, there are other issues with them. Reduced traction, leaks, lowered confidence. Like with the Dueller tires on the VUE's it's best to replace them before you get into a wreck from their reduced performance.

Hankook has made a good name for themselves.

To the OP, congrats on your new 07 XR! My compliments on your choice of color.

We test drove a white 09 and then went back to the dealer and bought the midnight blue 07 and saved a few thousand. Paid 15000 with 23000 miles. Like you the first test drive was basically holy ****! Who knew...! Well I guess everyone on this forum. But I didn't know any Aura owners.

Can't wait to see the progress on your personal touches!
