Default Rear wiper nozzle won't spray

Hi All,

I have a 98 SW and the rear wiper nozzle has stopped spraying. There's fluid in the tank. When I turn the switch to pump fluid, I'm don't hear anything. So either the pump is dead, or there's an electrical problem b/w the pump and the switch. I don't see a fuse just for the rear pump, so I'm guessing it's combined with other items on the rear harness. I've checked the nozzle itself and no clogs, leaks, etc. anywhere.

The rear wiper works fine, it's just the nozzle won't spray. Any ideas would be helpful. Also where would I look for the rear pump (side panel where the tank is located?) to troubleshoot.

Thanks in advance...
DJ

Check the dark green wire at the switch. It could have broken off from the solder joint. It has been known to happen.

That's what happened to mine.
Take the top cover off the steering column. The wires coming from the stalk go to a terminal. The flexing of the wires when using the wiper stalk broke the wire at the terminal. Soldered it back with a little extra wire.

Happened to me, too. I ended up replacing the whole multifunction switch, and shipping my old one to an SF member with a sedan, before I realized that this was probably all that was wrong with mine.

Well, in fact, that happened to my with the replacement multifunction switch. Not wanting to go thru that R&I adventure again, I explored and found the very thing richpin mentioned, but with the wiper wire (d'oh, I forget the color). IIRC, I just "sistered" in a piece of wire right from the harness; I figure if there's a time in the future I need to remove the wheel for anything else, I'll get in there an do it up right.
