Default What did they steal from you? S-Series PSA

Town Fair Tire worker stole a small swiss army knife from my center console while I was purchasing four new tires.

Yeah, I am certain of it.

Did I complain? - NO, I noticed a week or two later when I went to reach for it.

I can only hope he uses the slide-out toothpick and catches some rare mouth disease that I am an immune to carrier of.

Creating this thread as a reminder to watch your things in your car as well as your wallet when you put your coveted little car into the hands of these so-called ‘Professionals’.

These repair places never seem to disappoint, do they?

Ahhhh, that felt good.

Happy Re: What did they steal from you? S-Series PSA

The only work I ever have done is tires - and the tire shop owner is a neighbor.

The tire shop is also a gun store - and he knows how many guns I own.

AND, his house is down range from my pistol backstop.

....

Not surprisingly, I' ve never had a problem.....

Back in 2012 when I had to replace my engine, after everything was done and the car was back on the road I had a parasitic draw that would drain my battery after sitting overnight. Because I was basically a retard when it came to electrical problems at that point, I took it to a shop to have them diagnose the problem.

Sometime afterwards, the cigarette lighter fuse blew and I noticed that my fuse puller was missing, and I know it was there before I took it to that shop. Now, it's not that big of a deal, but it still irked me because I can't stand when things go missing. One of the main reason why no one else will touch my car again, seems like every time they do, something goes wrong.

We parked our Suburban at a car rental place for a few days and figure that we forgot to lock the doors. A pair of sunglasses and our vehicle log book was stolen from the console. I can't for the life of me figure why they took the log book and it bothered me more than the sunglasses. It had all my maintenance history and costs and my fuel log. I didn't have a backup copy. Weird.

I once had a pair of sunglasses and a 3D-cell Maglight stolen from my truck in the driveway. Later, I found the flashlight. Now, I am wondering what I did with the sunglasses.

While I didn't have anything stolen from the SL, I did watch surveillance footage of someone trying to peer into the interior, determining if there was anything of value inside. He had broken into four other cars before he got to mine, but opted to rummage through a Toyota Sienna left unlocked instead.

He ended up missing out on a Saturn AM/FM cassette player that I got from SLFun and a portable car vac. His loss!

I have never had anything swiped,
But I have had things left...

Sears left a nice Snap On wrench inside my front wheel well,
Dealership left an expensive digital thermometer in my dash vent, I returned this...
And a little 2 AA Maglite was left under the front passenger seat, unknown who did this...

2002 Silver SL2, manual, 5th gear swap (.605), 80,000 miles, black badges,
205/60R15 "H" rated tires, 5mm spacers rear...
Pennzoil Maximum Power 0W-30, Champion COS3600...
NGK BKR6E-11 spark plugs

^^^^ I had a wrench left in my car and two extra new tires I noticed weeks after purchasing only two tires (they installed four). This was on my 86 Nissan Pulsar years ago.

I guess I shouldn’t complain since I am really ahead of the game.

Disregard this thread.

Haha. Yeah, it is like baseball stats. They'll even out for most folk in the end. I've never had any significant issues with car folks. I even leave about $30 worth of quarters in the center console and have never had anyone take anything. The issues I've had tended to be more with up-sale of unnecessary maintenance. You can always decline those, however.
