Default Please help! Rear driver side window won't roll up :(

Driver side window rolled down and won't go back up. The window is all the way down now but when I push the switch down, I still hear a click but when I push the switch up, I hear nothing. I read a lot online and I'm thinking it could be a broken wire. I don't know anything about wiring or how to fix that stuff. I looked at the wire diagram and it said the blue wire is the up wire from the motor and took the door panel off and unplugged the blue wire and it looked corroded or burnt. All I really want is to get the window back in the up position and I'd be a happy camper. I read about maybe "jumping" the wire but idk how to do that? Can someone please help me! Its starting to get cold and rainy and I can't have this window all the way down anymore

Sorry my response is coming too late to be of much use to you, but I just had this happen to me with my '08 Astra. The driver side window switch had been finicky for years, but I never got around to fixing it. My temporary solution was putting red tape on it with "NO" written on it to keep service techs from rolling it down. Well that worked until yesterday, a bitterly cold day. My car was in for an oil change, and the tech rolled down the window. They couldn't get it back up, and sent me out into the cold with a bad need to fix the problem.

Here's what worked for me. I took off the inner door panel (there are videos on YouTube), thankfully not breaking any of the plastic clips, and was able to disconnect the window switch connector. That allowed me to pop out the switch housing, which could probably have been done without taking off the panel. It's held in by a plastic tab on the rear side of the housing. Once out, I removed the four screws on the bottom of the housing. Plastic tabs also hold the top and bottom halves together, but they can be pried apart with one or two flat screwdrivers starting near the tabs. Open it upside down, since there are pieces of white plastic under the switches that are free to fall out.

Once the housing it open, remove the circuit board and take off the rubber material. The circuit board has a number of circular, gold button contacts. Several of mine were tarnished, so I cleaned them with isopropyl rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs. I also wiped the black contacts on the rubber part for good measure. I put everything back in the housing to test it out, and the window rolled up.
