Question stalling auto... alt???

car stalling and wont start after.
seems like i have no batt. juice but it is brand new.
the starter will just click.
i can jump the car and fun it but not sure how long as i would just put it in the garage.
now, im sure this is the orig. alt and i think it isnt charging the batt..
i checked it with the volt meter and after jumping it and getting it in the garage, it was 12.5v.

If you measured 12.5 volts with the engine running, that sounds like a bad alternator to me. If measured with the engine off, that's about normal for a charged battery with no load.

Eliminating the battery and alternator leaves wiring and starter. With no history given for this car (mileage, maintenance done, parts replaced), a worn out starter may be a possibility.

ill look into that.
would that drain the batt.?
my starter works as long as there is juice.
somthing seems to be draining the batt. and killing the car while driving then wont start with out a jump.

There is nothing on the car that could be draining the battery if your alternator is working properly. Of course, this is assuming that you don't have a 30,000 watt stereo or any other power hungry accessories installed.

Did you remove the alternator and have it bench tested or was it tested in the car? If it wasn't bench tested I'd get that done and go from there.

LOL... YOUR FUNNY!!!

i had it tested at advance auto and we did it 3 times to make sure.
other then that i just remembered there was what i think is a ground when i was putting the harness in right next to the coil plug and it has to blk wires going to it that i will get a pic of tomorrow.
i grounded it to the engine head.
is that right?
