Default Uneven Tire Wear

I was replacing my brakes today, when I discovered that my rear tires have the inside of them worn down to the steal belts. These tires are about 6 months old so it has me a little alarmed. I've searching on the forum and have found the most likely culprit to be a horrible alignment problem. Before I take it into the shop is there anything else it could be, so that I know they're on the up and up? Thanks in advance.

Probably alignment unless you have been moonlighting using your Saturn as a dump truck. I started showing some unususal tire wear on mine when I was traveling all the time with the trunk loaded down with 400 lbs. of tools and equipment. That job came to an end and I got to unload the car problem went away. I checked the alignment loaded and unloaded. the alignment change was drastic.

I'm guessing the uneven tire wear is from alignment or incorrect tire pressure.

Might just be alignment but, I'll bet it's a tie rod end or ball joint. Take it in for an alignment and they'll tell you if there's a problem like that.
