Default timing chain

I probably missed this info in the message board changeover but was there ever a reply regarding the use of the plastic timing chain guide on SL2's starting in 97? Were they corrected by then and were they a problem on SL1 or SL2 models?

On the pre 97' more of a prob. on the 2's because the length of the chain is longer. Supposed to be pretty good on the 1's if the oil is changed every 3k.
Not sure if any better on the ones after 97'. Maybe worse since they made the chains lighter or thinner because of noise. Only time will tell.
Anyone out there with a 97',98' or 99' with 150k on it and still have the original chain?
