Default SL2/SC2 Tuck conversion *pics*

I sold my 96 SL2 to a buddy of mine sometime last year. He bought a 97 SC2 or SC1, not too sure which model.
Anyhow, he comes up with an idea...

After a bit of grinding...welding...painting...and whatever else was needed to complete it...this was created:

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ill_pi...92.jpg&.src=ph

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ill_pi...98.jpg&.src=ph

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ill_pi...c1.jpg&.src=ph

I couldn't believe what I saw.

I joined this site, in order for him to post these pics since he couldn't find a decent forum.
I don't believe anything like this have ever been attempted before is the reason for me posting.
I'm going to hand the screen name and password over to him so he can take over this thread and answer any questions you guys may have.

I DID NOT post this for people to flame, so discuss and let the questions roll.

THIS IS NOT A PHOTOCHOP! 100% REAL AND USED AS A DAILY DRIVER!

*edit* I thought this would be the right category to put this under, if it's not then a mod can move it.

WOW! That is certainly unique!

There's a company (in Wisconsin, I believe) that does similar things to trucks. They'll cut it open and weld in another set of doors to stretch the truck.

i can't see how anyone could NOT flame this. i've never seen a more mis-applied, mis-used array of mechanical and artistic skills in my entire lifetime. i thought i'd seen it all. silly me. aside from the craftsmanship involved, i've never seen a more ugly, useless display of talent anywhere by anyone. i hope whoever did this was doing it as a joke because that's what it is. sick and wrong is what this is...

Q: why would anyone do such as stupid thing?
Q: who has that much talent and that little style?
Q: what drugs was this fabricator on?
Q: how many other people laugh at how stupid this thing looks?

there. there's some questions for you...

sorry i didn't have anything nice to say, but you started it with those pics...

Well, you guys did say it was all done... which leaves people to go, "HEY! That means I gotta go a further step!"

Why do you think that 20 Civics with the same body kit are "unique"? The last thing I wanna see is a Civic truck. Things like this make me go HEY! NOBODY HAS EVER TURBOCHARGED A SATURN!

Do it and be unique...

AND NOT MAKING IT INTO A TRUCK!

Seriously. No matter how much you love a car, you can't love it enough to make it your "do-it-all" car. Once you go that far, it's no longer the same thing. If you need a truck, get a truck. If you need a rice-mobile, get an import. While nobody can deny his talent, I'd go further and do something like that to a truck. He just spent a lot of money impressing people on his lack of foresight.

Don't care much for the paint job, but his workmanship looks very good!

It's nice to see somebody having some fun. If I had time and money, I'd like to try building a mid-engine Saturn-based sports car weighing under 1500 pounds and with a built engine.

Pretty interesting. Gotta give him props on the craftsmanship. Dont pay any attnetion to the haters, you wanted to be unique and you accomplished it. Not like 99% of the people on this forum who say "I want to do this" and "I want to do that" but dont want to spend a dime. You car looks better than half the cars I see on here.

Without the purple graphics and the el-camino truck bed....it would have been a really nice car.

Wow, certainly something I've never seen before. Is he still running the Saturn rear end? What body and running gear mods did he have to do to pull that off.

It isn't really my style, but it isn't my car either. Even thought I wouldn't want such a car, it is still thousands of times better than seeing a barely upkept Saturn with APC stickers plaster all over it and $5 exhuast tip.

I like creativeness but I have to say this just to be funny!

"You don't know how sick that makes me...
It makes me freakin sick to my stomach
Everytime I look at it I PUKE!"

For some reason that song just popped in my head...

I think it would have been better if they got rid of the 2nd door and just made the truck bed after the front end. Like that it just looks like a super extended trunk. Which is actually a little dumb. But I guess it's a WHOLE lot easier just to do that.

I think all of us notice he has SKILLS... so does a nut who wires a high-school to blow. Does that make him a hero? No.

I'll give him all the props on proving something I already knew: you can make a car into a truck. You may not know it, but it's been done. Now, we've got a Saturn that's a truck, and we know nothing about how he did it. We just know it looks like
