It's a pretty straightforward swap. People have had mixed experiences with 6th planet though - tread carefully. Some love 'em, some hate 'em, and I personally know two people who have gotten bad product from them, one resolved, one not.

Never done a swap, but from what I hear you need the DOHC PCM along with the engine, and since you have a 2000+ car, you will need the BCM to match the PCM if you want the car to start. Do not run the DOHC engine with a SOHC PCM.

I think it could "slip" one tooth and still run- it might not run well, but it should still run.

But if it truly is "slipping", then you might have other issues. Chains don't normally "slip".

...
Not a Saturn.

BEWARE of joey and company at 6th planet! do a search on this forum about them and you'll quickly see why. i won't go into my story again, but i will say that they sent me parts that i was completely dissatisfied in and was WAY over charged for them...
