Default Royal purple atx fluid?

I plan to change the fluid on my 97 sl1 (5 spds) So as the title suggests, has someone use the royal purple ATX fluid for the Sl1?
Thanks

I'd just stick with the regular red stuff....ATF Dex III/Mercon.

If you're a car begging for your life, wouldn't you want someone to add fluids?

I think you'll be very impressed if you switch to Royal Purple. It's well worth the extra expense. Everyone that I know that has switched, even to regular synthetic has been very happy with the results.

Ok, so the change would be remove the drain plug from the tranny, drain the old fluid, set the drain plug again and put the fluid in? I assume that it is through the dip stick area?
