2008 VUE 2.4L
Default Transmission slips

For some reason I have to let the car warm up until the RPMs are below 1000. If I drive the car from a cold state then the transmission slips (not quite sure if it is the transmission but when I accelerate, the engine revs up, but the car goes nowhere or it barely goes forward). This only started happening as of the past 3 months but I did not have to do this before. The funny thing is that the engine does not slip after the car is warmed up and running.

Any insights on what could be causing this?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!
