DRL dashboard light came back to life
After going out about 10 years ago, the green DRL "on" indicator light on the dashboard of my 2004 Vue suddenly started working today... Weird.

My sons 2005 Vue did the same thing. We investigated and it turns out there was a short in the wire to the resistor which is located on the drivers side in front of the wheel well. The wire was broken just as it goes in to the resistor. We installed a new resistor and all is good. These resistors are notorious for failing. They are in a terrible location. If you decide to replace it you may want to go ahead and replace the resistor for the low speed cooling fan which is right next to is and turned 90 deg. They too are prone to failing.

Wait, are you saying just the dash light was out and came back to life or your DRL was out entirely. That was the case with my sons Vue. No DRL one day and a few days later they came back on.

Man, so funny. I bought my neighbors 2004 Vue 3 years ago with 122K miles on the odo. Last year, with about 147k miles on it, the DRL light decided to start working for the first time (for me). A couple months later the ODO illumination bulb went out. That was a tough one to locate a replacement for. All good now.

I can't remember the last time I seen a Vue in my area with functioning DRL's! Mine is the last I seen working & they haven't been working in several years now.
