14.35 is a little low, should be 14.6 or 14.7 If your near a junk yard, buy a used one off of any 2.2 engine.

O2 sensor could also be a posibility..

the 195 degree point is probably the temperature that engine must be at before allowing closed loop..

Default OK I'm Really Stumped

So I have been having some issues getting this Vue running correctly. After I did the swap (which I have done several times with great success) and I tried to start the engine it would not start. After checking all my wiring I found that the 10 amp ECM/TCM fuse in the underhood box was blown. It blew again immediately when I replaced it. I chased the wires that are attached to the output of this fuse and one goes to the TCM Plug C1 and Pin 33 the other goes to the ECM. I found that the one going to the ECM was the problem I thought my ECM was toasted. I had an extra one that I pulled from a junkyard vehicle. When I installed that ECM the fuse did not blow. I could start the car but I was getting several error codes on my scanner. It would run great for several minutes but then started sputtering and popping error codes.

So I went on Ebay and bought a new ECM which has the same Service Number but of course is not programmed for my Vue. Today I put that new ECM in the Vue thinking that worst case it would act like the one I currently have in the car. Just to be safe I pulled the ECM/TCM 10 amp fuse and disconnected the battery before installing the new ECM. I reconnected the battery and darned if the fuse didn't pop when I touched it to the fuse sockets. I hope I didn't kill this new ECM.

I am at wits end here. I evidently have a situation where some output from the ECM is blowing the fuse. The wire from that fuse is an orange constant voltage output.

The only other wiring I did on the car while replacing the transmission was to replace the Temp Sensor plug which was broken.

Tomorrow I am going to pull all the harness loose and take the loom off of it and check for any shorts.

If someone has a electrical diagram for this car and a pin out diagram for the ECM plugs it would be greatly appreciated.

I am in the same boat as you are I have an 05 that I just did a swap and I cannot find where these four pink wires go to so if anyone does have a diagram in a pin chart of the wires coming out of the fuse box so I don't cross wires really excited to get this done

Fastlane1300, You have me curious. If I am not mistaken the 2005 Vue had a 4T45E GM transmission on the 4 cylinder or a Honda MDRA on the 6 cylinder. Swapping to a newer one would be a plug and play since you wouldn't be cutting any harness.

It is an AWD which made it the vt transmission I wish it was any simpler.

Wow, how did I not know this. I thought Saturn did away with the VTI back in 2004. I didn't realize the AWD version still used it. Ironically the AWD is the absolute worst application of the poorly designed undersized VTI. I did a swap on two 2004 Vues with AWD and just took the rear driveshaft out and the RWD unit.

Are you using the VTI to AF23 manual that Jimmie Ford put together? Maybe the wiring diagrams will point you in the right direction for the locations of the splices on the harness. I have a PDF that I can send you if you PM me your email address.

Thank you oldmania I pieced together diagrams and jimmie's manual and fiquired it out the only question was the two pink wires coming out of the trs switch but after looking at the schematics they were both just 12volt leads into the switch so I moved on got the wiring all soldered and wiring loom on and it is all plugged in. Dropped a battery in before putting all the box in and car starts then shuts off "security system" I then did the 30 minute pass lock reset and it is trying to stay running a second longer I think it is out off gas now but the security light isn't staying on any longer so I'm hoping that is it. Going to hit it again in the morning.
If I get this going if anyone wants to know what I used for the awd conversion pm me there was a few things I had to do different than the manual. I did drop the rear drive shaft not going to worry now about the differential maybe later to help with mpg's

Default UPDATE: Transmission Swap No Start

I replaced to upstream O2 sensor today and have run the car at varying RPM's for about 1/2 hour. It appears to be running correctly and so far no codes. I discovered the rear drivers side hub is shot so it will be a couple of days before I drive this thing. I'll let you know how that goes later this week. Oh the only way I could get that darned sensor out was to cut the top and wire off of it and put a 22mm deep well socket on it. It seems that all the sensor sockets available from the auto parts stores are 7/8" and a large 7/8" at that. They did not work and were starting to round the hex. I was replacing it anyway so the cut-off wheel came in to play. I applied a liberal amount of anti-seize on the new one.
