Default VUE shown in GM commercial

I couldn't believe that they had a VUE in a GM commercial.

Has anyone seen this?

They show GM vehicles from Hummer, Cadillac, Corvette, GMC, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick and even Saturn! They were popping cars up on the screen along with the name, and up popped a VUE.

Saturn use to never be a part of GM's commercials that had every other line but I am surprised at their use of Saturn now its like in the new SS commercial there is a SL2 thats parked on the left and when the SS pulls in the saturn and the other car (i forget what it was) moves over away from the SS.

I saw the commercial yesterday for the first time and I was also happily surprised to see the Vue with other GM vehicles. Some of those Caddy prototypes looked sweet...maybe next year we'll see them on the road

I saw that commercial last night watching Survivor Thailand. Not only was a VUE shown, but the Saturn logo was flashed along with the logos for Chevy, Pontiac, etc. Welcome to GM brand advertising, fellow Saturnfans.

I don't quite understand why car companies often show only their cars in commercials. (I'm talking real life settings, of course, where there are other cars in the background.) If it were me, I'd rather see my car standing out against its competitors from other companies. Showing only GM cars, for example, makes it seem like some sort of fantasy world. It's sort of like showing highlights from a scrimmage, instead of an actual game against real opponents!

Thumbs Down Guess Saturn is no longer a different kind of company

For so many years we tried to pretend that Saturn is not GM. Well the wall has come down. Saturn is now just like any other GM division, not different anymore.

You're right. It is now only "Different in a Saturn."

On the flip side this may not be a bad thing to do. Sharing Advertisement cost with GM can save Saturn Corp a bundle to keep cutting corners on its products instead.

Also, it increases Saturn's exposure to the public with GM ads tying along.

Didn't save enough to keep the 4 wheel disc brakes

Did not see the TV add, but in our local paper I did see a print add offering zero percent financing on ALL GM cars.
It had a picture of the VUE with wording underneath saying all Saturn models.
Why does this always happen to me, now they offer zero percent!!!!!
That' all 2002 models by the way, so I understand it's a clearance.

Saturn has been in several other GM commercials over this past year...

of course, they havent quite made it to GM sponsored events. They dont even claim to be related to saturn or saab

This is a mistake IMHO; many import shoppers would never even consider something from GM. The name is a call to stay away (and with GM's record - in small cars particularly - who can blame them.) Saturn was intended to and has succeeded in sidestepping this, so the reason for marketing Saturn as a GM division is...?

(Sigh.) God knows what kind of idiocy runs GM.

I see in a recent GM shareholder bulletin there was a picture of a ION.

I agree with Qlara that it is good exposure to be associated with GM. That brings the loyal GM shopper into the showroom. I can tell you if Saturn wasn't GM I wouldn't own the two that I have.

Is this the commercial with the View Master that I saw this weekend? I thought it was very cool and found out that GM is actually giving away View Masters with discs that feature new products (including the VUE) on it........ I want one!

There has been a GM Canada commercial that has been running for about 6 months to a year that shows all divisions including Saturn.

It shows a VUE, and a handicapped person getting their wheelchair out of the 3rd door on the 02 SC and an 02 SC driving.

Default If Saturn...

If Saturn were a Chrysler product, I would not own one now, nor would I have bought two others in years past. Ford ain't too confidence instilling either.

While GM twelve years ago was not that great, GM has a lot of good stuff being put out these days and the association can't hurt.
