Default antifreeze in auto tranny??

I just read an old post on finding antifreeze in the auto transmission buy a leak internally in the radiator. This may be what is happening to me. Anyone else had this happen??? I think I am going to disconnect the cooler lines, make a hose to keep them in loop and flush the trans and see what happens. I thought the fluid leaking was a little wierd looking, almost a light pink foamy color. Plus the radiator is dented on the bottom a little.

Disconnecting the lines for short test sounds like a good idea. If it's leaking, you should be able to see cooling fluid leaking out from the bottom radiator line. If it's not, it will stay dry after it has been drained.

You do not want to mess around with this. If antifreeze is getting into tranny you want to fix it NOW because it can wreck tranny in a short period of time.

Well I went out this morning and drained every thing and it looked normal coming out (red color). So I filled back up with fresh fluid and it appears to still be coming out the inspection plate area. So I still think I need to pull the trans and see where the leak is from. I am willing to bet the front pump seal is leaking badly. about 1 pint in about 15-20 min. I am guessing the guy knew this allready and why he sold so cheap... what do you want for 200.00 I guess.

If it is leaking there it may be converter hub seal as they can leak pretty aggressively when they are bad.

Would it be easier to pull the engine just to replace the converter hub seal????? Looks like alot of work to drop the trans out the bottom....

I would pull the tranny to do it properly. While you are at it you might replace the half shaft tranny seals too and check half shafts as well.
