Question Getting ready for a rebuild/manual swap

Okay guys, I'm going to be starting the rebuild and manual swap of my 98 SC2 probably this weekend or next. I've been working on reading some articles on here to get the best idea possible of what I need to do, and I was just curious to see if you guys had some advice or anything I should know.

Any threads you think will help me, I'd appreciate you posting links below! (OldNuc you can chime in here, I know you want to) .

I will also be taking LOTS of pictures when possible so I can upload the images on here to maybe help some people on their future rebuilds .

Thank you!!

You might want to consider buying a 5-speed parts car. Getting all the conversion parts from a junk yard could nickel and dime you to death.

I bet you could find a decent 5-speed DOHC doner car for <$400 on CL. Then you could sell the parts you don't need or get at least $150 just sending it off to the junk yard.

Advice: don't be in a hurry.

My rebuild has been very simple so far, besides being too busy to really get anything done since pulling everything apart.

I don't know about rust in Kansas but the axles must come off, and pulling the wheel hub(?) apart with our Indiana rust was a tremendous effort. Soak everything (tie rod ends and lower ball joints) in some type of knock 'er loose, liquid wrench, etc. overnight.
Goodluck!

Thank you everyone!

I am probably going to take my sweet time on this, as It's going to be a major learning experience.

Yea the rust here is less than.. tolerable.. but I guess I'm probably used to it.
