Default Mount for iPod (iPhone) in 2007 XR

Any suggestions on a nice mount for the new iPod 3G? I think it's the same size as the 2G iPod as well as the iPhone.

I seen a suction cup mount that fit off the dash but I was wondering if anyone had one they'd like to recommend.

I bought mine from http://www.proclipusa.com/

You have to select the mount (vehicle specific), and then select a device holder.

Here is a pic of mine:

I just went and spent the extra money and got a PXAMG vehicle specific and you just hide the Ipod in center console or glove box. it even came with an charger, then you could just use the radio to scroll through you Ipod. there is also a factory device called the personal audio link. For the PAL you will need part # 19201510 and 19201495 for the Chevy malibu or the 19166154 for the Saturn Aura specific. http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/new...te=1&p=1513123 the Saturn one might be hard to find as most Gm parts sites have taken Saturn off the sites for parts.

I guess I do not understand the need to mount phones in a car. If I'm driving I do not answer the phone, I'll call back during my next stop.

The Ipod isn't a phone, its an MP3 player.

As posted above, proclipusa.com has very nice custom setups. I have this one:

It is in perfect view and I like having it near eye level instead of having it down by the gear selector.

I think I'll get the ProClip. I'd rather have the screen of the iPod viewable and not tucked away.

The one higher on the dash looks nice but it's right in front of the vent. Would running the A/C cause any problems or condensation?

When I first looked last night, I was going to order the one that sits on the lower right, but after sitting behind the wheel, I'd rather have the one that is higher up.

I am not a big fan of vent-mounted clips. You can break your vent if you are not careful. It also blocks the vent airflow, and pushes (often wet and sticky humid) air into your device (i-pod, GPS, etc). If you check on e-Bay, there are many different mounts including a cigarette outlet mount (with or without power plug built-in. This is the one I have one myself - the cigarette outlet is in the pop-open compartment behind the shifter), cupholder mount (it uses one of the cupholders, not the best in my opinion). My son has his i-pod on a mount that is attached to a "sleeper" that clips behind and above his radio bezel (pop the bezel, attach the slender sleeper with a screw that is hidden once the bezel is reattached).
Here are some links:
cigarette lighter powered mount: http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-iPod-iPhon...d=p3286.c0.m14
Vent mount: http://cgi.ebay.com/CAR-MOUNT-w-Vent...d=p3286.c0.m14
Cup holder mount: http://cgi.ebay.com/Cup-Holder-Car-M...d=p3286.c0.m14
Here is the one my son has in his truck, could not find the one he has in his car (got it at Best Buy from the car stereo installation guys): http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundm2.html.
I might order this one myself and attach it to the plastic piece in the center top of the dash (where the passenger seat-belt warning light is, or between the speedo cluster and the center vents).
