Default 2008 Aura XR with 20" wheels.

A couple of us have been bugging our GM for months to put some wheels on a few cars. We picked two for now, both carbon flash color (black metallic). We put 22" rims on the Outlook and 20" rims on the Aura. Figured I would toss 'em up on here as well.

Very nice. What adjustments did you have to effect on the suspension?

I know it's a popular look, all rim, little tire; but I feel more comfortable with more tire.

Their suspensions are all tuned having a certain amount of compliancy from the tire which you have now since removed, also the wheel system is most likey heavier increasing the sprung weight. Which is not compensated by the damper (strut).

I'd be very careful driving these vehicles...

I would probably choose the Opel-style five-spoke wheel offered for Aura at the Saturn website's "build your own" section but the 20s look sharp too.

Saturn of Kings Automall has an Outlook in the showroom with 22's on it, plus a bunch of other addons. Grille guard, chrome side steps, etc. All told, with the ridiculous markup dealerships figure, it's up to $48,000 as it sits. My sales lady said they'd sold several just like it, after I commented that I don't know who would pay over $50,000 after tax and title to own a Saturn. Don't get me wrong, it looks really nice, though.

I don't think the larger wheels look too bad in terms of size, but why are the designs always so tacky and always blingy chrome? I would love to see a nice clean design with a nice painted or machined finish. Any one of Saturn's OE wheel designs would be far more attractive in a larger size than these or any of the dozens of wheel designs just like them.

Huge wheel + tiny brake disc = silly.

Looks like just another "riced" Accord now.

My $.02.........

I don't remember I'll take a look for you.

As for what Skydrive said, I tend to agree with you. I would personally prefer a nice silver or other type of finish but the chorme "bling" thing is popular to alot of folks, especially here in South Florida.

In the end, you cannot please everybody.

In the end you just have to accept that many people lack taste; fake convertible roofs on sedans come to mind. It's their money however, and if they are willing to spend it on gaudy add-ons, it's their right!

Been riding big rims for the longest. Never had a problem with it on any of my vehicles. The worst that has happened is hitting a pothole and putting a bubble in the sidewall of the tire. Just replace the tire.

True and it comes down to opinion on stuff. I like the larger wheels when they don't lift the car up like a truck, if I had an aura I would go with a size like that but not so chrome, I am not a big chrome person. However, on the Outlook, I like the big chrome wheels especially on a white jewel tintcoat.

A lot of it is where you are located, down here in South Florida it is a very big style and you see it on many, many vehicles.

Which is another reason I don't get it. Everybody does the same things to their cars so everybody's "high style" car looks just like everybody else's. It's just like so many wealthy people who buy the same BMWs/MBs that everybody else in their social class buys. Have some originality for god's sake!
