2008 Astra XR
Default Astra parts

Newbie to this board!
I just bought a 3dr Astra XR (white) with 78K miles on it. Great little hatch. What's the best place to find oil and air filters, plugs, etc.
Also, there is a recess next to the lighter (coins?) that has 2 small holes at the bottom - am I missing something here????
Thanks for any help.

I get filters from AAP or OReileys.
As for the little recess, I think it's just for coins or keys of something. And as far as I can tell, the holes are there to help with removing it, or to run cords through. Maybe?

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, you're missing a little rubber flap that goes into that recessed area, I happen to have mine out for cleaning so I snapped a couple pics including the part number.

x2 for Oreilly's. They often end up special ordering and the parts arrive in a couple of days.

Oh yeah, the rubber strip. I totally forgot to see if they still have that.

Really? The OReileys here usually has it in stock. It almost time for me to give her another oil change actually, so I should probably check to see if they have any in stock. It's where I got it last time. Both AAC and O'R had it in stock, but O'R was cheaper.
It's funny, the only real problem I find with changing your own oil, is not getting the tires rotated at the same time. I don't have a ton hydraulic jack with me here in Texas so I am NOT even going to attempt it with the onboard one.

Napa carriers our Oil Filters. they are like 10 bucks i think a piece, which is what they are at the dealership. They are Label Napa Gold, but if you look at the box at the bottom its a WIX filter.
