2003 ION-3 Sedan
Default 2005 ION Engine Cover...

... will not fit on the 2003 or 2004 models!!?!?!?

I just got a call from the parts guy at Saturn of Kitchener, and he says he actually took it off a 2005 and tried it, but the fastening positions, dip stick location, and oil cap is completely different and will be too much work to put it on...

Can someone verify this? That it really cannot be done easily? (plug and play? )

Thanks...

thats kind of odd that the 2.2 ecotec top end oil cap/dipstick/fastening locations are so different from the 2004 one. I wouldn't think it would be worth changing the positions at all.

Yeah that does seem weird. I guess that is one of the hundreds of changes Saturn made with the 05 Ion.

Is there a picture out there of the 05 engine cover? I thought there was, but couldn't find it.
