1997 SW1
Default Front Tower Strut Nut

I had a shop replace the front struts/springs on my '97 SW1 today with prebuilt units and noticed that they used different strut tower nuts that have much less of a flange. You can see in the first pic below where the old nuts used to be. Are the new nuts ok? The old ones obviously distribute the torque more evenly. Saturn must have chosen the design in the second pic for a reason...

I would find some locking flange nuts and remove/replace the ones that came with your new struts.
If you donít, every time you open the hood, you will be reminded that they are the wrong ones. Attention to detail, and all that...

they will be fine, but go ahead and get at least some washers under them, otherwise as previously stated OCD will drive you crazy
