![]() Reading the spark plug wells, from left to right, as:
[1]> > > [2]> > > [3] > > > [4] The respective plugs wire should sit on top of the coils as: [4]> > > [1]> > > [2] > > > [3] With the above in mind, the top of the left most coil, should go to plug well [4]. The second from the left coil [2], should go to spark plug well [1] The third from the left coil [3], should go to spark plug well [2] the fourth from the left coil [4], should go to spark plug well [3]. There should be a graph on the center of the engine compartment's radiator, just where the hood latches to the center grill area. ... > 95 SL 2 = 653,369 Miles 40.4 MPG, as of 5/20/11. ![]() Um is the firing order different on a win cam because mine looks way different?
Edit: Maybe its not. Damnit I did mine last night and it started up with no problems put it to reverse again no problems. Im assuming it'd fire an SES code if something was out of whack ... Be nice to me - Im still Learning 2003 Saturn Ion 3

![]() This is why I'm a firm believer in replacing each wire ONE AT A TIME. So you don't mess it up, like I have a few times.

![]() The image for dummies is correct. That is the plug wire routing for all S-series cars.
Worst comes to worst have a look at the diagram on the crossmember over the rad. ... A lousy day in paradise is still a day in paradise.

![]() hi, thank you all for your fast help, i was able
to get where i had too ![]() repleacing that and a few other parts gave it more acceleration, but didnt solve my big problem with this 92saturn sl twincam sometimes (every 8-10 time) when i hit the clutch to stop at the traffic light, the engine cuts off, i turn the key, and it starts, i drive and a few stops later it cuts off again. i took it to the saturn dealer a week ago, to make sure that its not a problem with the engine, i paid 90 usd for the engine check (service engine light was off at this time), they told me that the engine is ok, no codes, and that i have to repleace the spark plugs, wires, coils and air temp. sensor, which i did on saturday. after i picked up the car at the saturn dealer, the service engine light came up the first time, since that i have troubles starting the car in the morning (turn the key, engine starts, runs for a few seconds, cuts off, turn it again, runs cuts off, after 3-4 times it keeps runs at 1500rpm, which should be fine), once the engine is warm, the rpm is going up and down between 800-2500 when i put the car in neutral. both problems came up first after the engine check. after repleacing all that stuff, its the same problem, and also the service engine light is on (which first appeared after the engine check at the dealer) if the car breaks down im in serious troubles, because i cant get to work without it!!! have you ever heard about similar problems with that car? juergen

![]() Sounds kind of like a CPS (Crankshaft Position Sensor) and kind of like an ECTS (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor). I'd lean towards the ECTS but, many parts stores will read the codes for free. Get the codes read and come back here and post the code NUMBERS. Don't post what the guy at the parts store says it means.
... There is nothing more frightening than ignorance in action.

![]() is it a big deal to change the coolent sensor, i never did that
and i dont really know where this sensor is located, is it on the radiator?? i think that they turned on the check engine light at the dealer, because it wasnt on till i left their store, i had no code on the engine when they run the engine check ![]() if the problem is the sensor, and i change it, will the light disappear or do the have to fix it in the shop? maybe i can reset it by disconnecting the battery? i dont want to pay much more on that, its enough for this month ![]()

![]() ![]() Maybe we should make a sticky on spark plugs, wires, and coils, just so it'll be easier for those who go about doing the usual maintenance. ![]()
