Hi, short update:

Changed alot of parts related to ideling problems, but nothing
helped, its still stalling and running rough.

Its got even worse during the last weeks, the mechanic
couldnt figure out either what is wrong with it.

I'll have another one take a look at the car this weekend,
and i have to do the emissions test tomorrow, which i'll
fail thats for sure.

Once we found the problem, ill post it in here for other ppl
who have the same/similar problems.

see you later

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

That's okay. HOW it fails will be important information. Which pollutants are high, which are normal, which are WAY high, well, get the whole report. IIRC, wolfman is esp. adept at translating emissions test results to likely suspects.

Hello, they could not complete the test, because after they simulated
a hill the car stalled 2 times, so the aborted the test, during the previous
simulations, emissions looked pretty good.

but i knew it will stall as soon as they get on the clutch

so my mechanic had no time by now to check the car, and im
gettin tired of driving around like that, i read earlier that a faulty
FPR or fuel injector will cause the same problems that i have.

should i buy on of these, maybe used, or can i test
without special equiment if the fuel pressure and the injectors
are ok?

thanks for you help guys, i really want to stick with this
car for a couple more months, i like the leather interior,
the green color good milage and the very comfortable seats

This is kind of an old thread but it's smilar to some problems I am having. My 2001 sl will randomly idle EXTREMELY high, sometimes over 4000. It gets worse as the engine heats up. The problem is helped a tiny bit when the AC is turned on. Could this be a dirty throtel body?
Also, what is the corect order to wire the spark plugs on this model, left to right is it 2341 or 4123?

AWESOME! I knew I could find an S series diagram on here. Like the original poster I'm in MD (Port Deposit) and have to get to jury duty in the morning and just changed my wires and all of the ignition points came loose. Arrgh. But now that I have the sequence all is good.

Cheers!
