Default 1997 SC2 5spd, N.E. Dallas, needs work, $250

1997 Saturn SC2, 130K miles, manual transmission

I bought the car in mid summer 2016 from the 2nd owner. Sold to my father-in-law a year later when I temporarily moved across the country for job.

The good:
1) Shift cables replaced
2) non-smoker car as far as we can tell
3) back seats hardly used
4) no mods aside from dashmat, 12V dashboard fan, and hilariously old (early 2000's according to p.o.) Panasonic stereo with in-trunk 6 disc changer
5) inspection good until February
6) cruise control
7) DOHC (i understand these are much more reliable and popular than the SOHC)
8) clean blue TX title

The bad:
1) slow radiator leak
2) heater core leak
3) driver interior door panel is loose and has some wear
4) no a/c (mechanic "fixed" it twice, after which we gave up)
5) burns oil (currently 1 liter per week/400 miles)
6) needs new rear struts
7) scratches in headliner
8) passenger side sun visor fell apart and is now more duct tape than visor
9) check engine light comes and goes; we gave up trying to catch it in the act with a code scanner
10) idles rough (doesn't stall)

Father-in-law recently bought replacement car with a/c and isn't interested in using the Saturn as his backup car.

Located in Lavon, Texas. Title is in father-in-law's name. He works long hours so the family has asked that I handle selling the car, thus I will be handing over the title with his signature. I can also provide you with a photo of his driver's license and you're more than welcome to take a photo of mine.

If the car doesn't sell by the end of October, it's either being donated or sent to the junkyard.

Asking $250 due to the substantial oil usage. Considering how much oil it uses, I'd only recommend this as a car to teach somebody stickshift in, or as a parts donor

I'm interested. 2 hours east in Longview. I just don't know if I can find someone else that can drive a stick and my current car is a stick
...
I'm just a guy that enjoys my Ions.
Try Google, first. Then ask.

Updates:

1) Deadline for donate/junkyard is now Oct 11

2) just got some clarification on the radiator leak. It's worse than was first described to me. Father-in-law needed to take a gallon of water with him for each 60 mile (round-trip) commute.

There's an O'Reilly literally across the street from our neighborhood and they're pretty gracious about people wrenching as long as you don't leave a mess (wouldn't be an issue since the cooling system only has water now).

Just an FYI in case the buyer would like to fix the issue before driving back home.
