Default Is my BCM going bad? 2002 L100

Drove the car today and the gas gauge stayed on E but the low fuel light was not on. Then I shut it off for two minutes, and went to start it back up, and it started OK, but the temp gauge kept going from the normal spot to cold, my traction control light on the traction button kept flashing, the security light was flashing, and even though my foot was on the brake pedal, the brake-shift interlock kept clicking. I couldn't shift out of park. I started it three times and it did this every time, but finally I tried shifting at just the right time and it shifted out of park and I was able to drive it home. I started it at home, and noticed that the daytime running lights are flashing with the other lights in the dash (security, traction, temp gauge).

Is this a bad BCM?

Unfortunately, yes. You can try pulling the negative battery cable for resetting things and see but all the indicators are coming from the BCM. Check all the threads here about BCM failures.

The car was nearly out of gas, so I added a couple gallons and I'm sure that it was coincidence, but the problem went away. I couldn't replicate it.

In this case I'm glad I'm wrong. BCM's aren't cheap replacements.
