04 Ion 5sp standard - backup lights intermittent
Backup lights will come on but not all the time. Bulbs, fuse, etc obviously fine. No amount of gear shifter jiggling helps. Where is the switch located in a 04 Ion sedan, 5 speed standard? Thank you in advance. :)

According to my Alldata manual the switch is on the transmission. You have to take the left wheel off to get at it
...

this is a known problem with the switch. There is a TSB for it, not sure about a recall, but Saturn fixed mine for free....

Yes switches of all sorts are known to fail, replace it.
