Front license plate holder removal

I got a car bra to cover up the ugly on my previous post. Too much to repaint or get a new bumper. SaturnAccesories.cm had the bra for $99 so I was more than happy to pay for it.

Remove plate and what do I see but 3 plastic bolts with no way to remove them. Stupid me already removed the thread for the license plate hole on the bra so theres probably no way to return the thing now.

My options:

1) Do the stupid thing and try to break the bolts as suggested. - With my luck I'll end up breaking the entire bumper and something else.

2) Take it to the dealer, demand they wash it then install it for whatever fee. Surely if they have a hole for the plate they intended for you to use it with one and know of a method.

This is California btw, a 2 plate state. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

with my 95 SL2, the bracket is held on by plastic rivets. You have to break the rivets to take off the bracket. Just grab the rivets with needle nose pliers and squeeze really hard to make it slip out. You'll see what i mean when you break the rivets. You have to get new rivets from the dealer or use nuts and bolts when you reinstall it. I had to remove my entire front fascia just to install my bracket after the rivets broke.

Mines a 96 SL2, if I'm lucky I'll be able to do that.

If you need two license plates, why are you trying to remove the front plate bracket? The bra should slip on around the plate frame.

I had mine off, then i bought a car bra and it had the plate hole in it, and they said the bra wasn't warrenteied if the plate holder was off.... so on it went.... just got a cool plate for the front.. I have a pic of it in my photos section.

I said "fee" not "free". The actual install I'd be more than happy to pay for, but If I drove from where I'm at to the closest dealer where my car came from (Fairfield, CA) I would expect some sort of car washing to be included either for free or for pay. 20 miles or so of highway and I washed it last night to apply it this morning.

As for applying it with the front frame still on, it might work. I've just never seen or heard anyone put one on without removing it first.
