![]() As I understand it the DRL's will not work with the LED bulb. Most sellers indicate so in their advertisement. The LED wont light or will flicker as there is not enough power when in DRL mode. You're good to go with the low beam though.

![]() Say, Pitcher, have you tried the new LEDs on a dark country road yet?
In the past 3 years, I used very similar LEDs on my SW2 and LW200 cars. I could see the light was brighter white, but they did not illuminate better in actual driving conditions and I went back to the Ultra's again.

![]() Red Hot is using a bit more oil than she used to.
Probably cause I went from Full Syn to Havoline DS as it's the same timeframe. Adding Rotella T5 10w-30 a few times to thicken it up a bit. May switch to T5 fully or go back to Full Syn. Not sure yet. T5 has more Zinc, Phosphorous & Calcium in it. See how she drinks that..... ... Proud Owner of an Invincible '98 SC2 Rare "Red Hot" 5-Speed. Castrol Edge EP + M1 Ext Perf. Oil Filter. ![]() Pitcher, y'all must have entered a typo about lumens.
A standard 60w incandescent bulb is 800 lumens, a 75w one is 1,100, so you might be confused IF you believe a SilverStar Ultra bulb has less light than a 75w bulb. I have seen the Ultra's lumens placed at 1,700 and even at 5,600 (I doubt the 5,600 lumen figure though). LEDs by nature do not typically go the same distance per lumen that halogens can. This was my experience with 2 expensive LED sets, bright, yes, but they petered out and could not illuminate the distance I needed so went back to the Ultras.

I see numbers all over the place around that amount for the Ultras, so who knows for sure. Silverstar Watts: 55 LED Watts: 100 Light is being concentrated and reflected back, then directed & projected out, so it's not apples to apples with house light bulbs. ![]() ... ![]() Copied from the Amazon link, "BRIGHTEST & NO WARNING TICKET: ZES Chips,50 watts/bulb", 100w per set.
Not going to belabor the point, but lumens are lumens and are a measurement of light output, your saturn does not have projector lenses unless you have modified them from factory lenses. Your LEDs are not housed in a projector. Only difference perhaps between the LED's I had and yours, is that yours seem to have an adjustable ring to change the CW/CCW orientation which may give you a way to obtain a greater light distance (penetration) than the fixed ones I used. As far as 200 hours of use, I had the silverstar ultras as a set of 4 bulbs, and used them twice daily (1 hour commute each way) for over 70K miles in 5 years of use and never had a ultra bulb-failure. ![]() Typical Oil vs Oil discussion, lol
![]() I used to have ultra failures, not so much anymore. Mfg improvements. ![]() Look at the 3 pictures in my Thread. Which do you think is brighter? http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=238260 When I can see WAY better with the LED's, + a 2 Year Warranty, + cheaper $$ than ultra, it's an absolute win. ![]() ... ![]() I need to do my oil.... it's over due, and I may need to figure out how to drain my washer fluid. I filled mine up earlier this year with the summer blend that isn't rated for low temperatures.
