From what i believe, simply unclip all of the upperplastic trim along the edges of the headliner. Remove sun visor and and light in the headliner. Should simply come right off after that. You may have to bend it a bit to get it out of the car.

Sorry for lack of specifics, maybe some other member can be of more help its late and i'm tired lol

Pretty much what he said. Just remove all the plastic pieces and the headliner should come out. You'll need to remove the handle things too.

You do have to put the passenger seat all the way foward and tilt the back all the way back. It comes out the passenger door the easiest. You do have to bend it but, be very careful because it will fold on you. That's not good. Good Luck!

I assume that it's easier for a coupe since the doors are bigger? I need to replace my headliner... it doesn't have any on it but the sun roof! (and that's coming off)

Will I have to bend it even slightly to get it in? Cuz I had some ideas about fiberglass resin on it.

Yes, that is correct sps. The area that will tend to fold on you will be right where the whole for the map light sunroof switch. That is where you need to be the most careful.

So you are saying I DON'T have to bend it to remove it?

I was going to:

remove it
scrub brush old paint (it's painted black) and extra crud off
do a coat of fiberglass resin and let it dry completely
sand it smooth and buff it a little
paint it black with a clearcoat
reinstall

Obviously I won't be able to bend it or it will crack. Does this sound like a cool idea? It would make the ceiling look very smooth and sleak. I was thinking about doing this to the center console as well.

It is very fragile and you will have to bend it slightly to get it out. After you get the glue off of the surface it will be a little rough. It has a fiberglass texture to it. It might work with several coats of paint and trimming the little ends that might pop up. When you get it out and cleaned up you will be able to judge better on how you feel. I went and got the 3M glue from a clothing store that is meant for headliners and chose some purplish material to match the car. I haven't had time to finish it due to rain and hurricane preperations. When you get it out, let me know what you think.
