Did they really rivet sheets of steel onto plastic or am I seeing that wrong?

Went to check on a new arrival 94' at the local salvage yard, and spotted this Homecoming edition.
Too bad somebody didn't get to this sooner and keep it going.
The rare white metallic paint looks good on this, as well as the wood grain and upgraded seats.

Looks like the headlights are stuck open. I am guessing the gear stripped and they keep them upright?

They were in the upright position, and the other glaring issue is a sagging headliner.

Headlights were in the upright position, and the other glaring issue is a sagging headliner. I'm going back to get the leather-wrapped steering wheel out of the Homecoming edition. It's been a while since I've pulled a steering wheel...

The floor mats in that HC edition look really good too. Those are hard to come by in a junkyard, or anywhere really.

Grab the rear headrests or at least the mounts from the HC. I'd be interested in the buying mounts. They are the inserts that the headrest goes into on the rear deck (part no 21039508, ESCUTCHEON. REAR SEAT HEAD RESTRAIN).

That HC looks to be in good shape, even the seats look decent. Based on the bend in the hood, did it take hit on the drivers side?

I'll pull the back headrests when I go to pull the steering wheel.

The HE was not hit. The car got damaged from vandals at the salvage yard. I've seen this hood crease on other vehicles at salvage yards, where the hood gets dropped, and there's an air filter box not put back correctly, or a battery hold down strap bent over the fender. The passenger window was also broken. The car had rust in the rear door sills, but it wasn't beyond hope.

Forgot about this one from October. Probably one of the most in focus photos I've taken while driving. Too bad I took it too early though, lol.
