Default LW300 3.0 v6 AC Compressor - Belt Bypass

Why I have chosen to find a belt to bypass the shaft-locked compressor, rather than replace it , aka- "backstory" is over here in this old thread that I inadvertently arose from the dead.

http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=147330

The reason I post today is that all "belt override" threads I found are providing belt info to the 2.2 engine, not the 3.0 for my LW300. User 02LW 300 had one on his wagon, but it wasn't his work and had no further info, except that it was obviously possible. It was FINALLY above freezing when I got home so I measured out the serpentine run, and this is what I have -

The serpentine belt to bypass the ac compressor appears to be 74 and 3/8"
This measurement was done with the broken belt from the same car.
Airbox and front engine mount assembly were removed for this measurement.
The measurement was taken by marking the belt at "overlap" with the tension pully manually being held at full load. So, if I need to round off numbers, I'd better round up.

User pierrot provided the following information. Confirmed by other oldschool wrenches such as fdryer :

1) "K" - serpentine type
2) 05 - number of grooves
3) 0405 - length in inches, 40.5.
Other companies may use millimeters for the length with a number like 5PK1030 (note the similarity of the part number except that the order is partially altered).

The 74 and 3/8 " I converted ... each inch is 25.4mm, well, it comes to:
74" x 25.4 =1879.6mm
3/8" converts to 9.5250mm

So I round the (3/8 conversion) to 9.53mm and add the 1879.6
I get 1889.13 . I'll round that to the nearest mm. 1890mm

So the belt for this job is 5PK1890 ?

As soon as I get this belt and install, I'll report the results.

BANDO 6PK1890 is on order. This is 6 Rib 74.4 inch. Give me another week.
There's likely only 150 of these vehicles left on the planet, still, I'll report how it goes.

The factory belt is 80” long so you should be very close. Keep us posted.

Hope so. Strange, 5 inches is all I lost, ( old belt was 5060795 ) (79.5)
But I rechecked quite a few times. I got tracking today so it's on the way.

Belt is on. Fit is good. Just barely got over the tensioner (retarded)

Belt list for anybody who needs them. Note this is the 3.0L V6.
This will not work on the 2.2L.
This will not work on the SAAB 9.5

Cross Reference for the 6PK1890

Best Regards
