Default Will unplugging O2 put "warm" obdII car in open loop??

Hi all,
Will unplugging the pre-cat o2 sensor put a warmed up obdII car in open loop?

I have some drivability problems I am trying to diagnose and since the car warms up so fast into closed loop it's hard to put a finger on it. It seems like the car(97 SC1) bogs with jerking accelleration after it's warmed up.
I would like to check warmed up in open loop so I can maybe eliminate items such as fuel pump, alternator, dirty injectors, ect...

If have no SES light.
Tried separately and unplugging and blocking off egr and did not help.
New plugs, wires, fuel filter, Fuel pump(30,000 miles ago) .
Cleaned tbody, coil pack terminals and dis mounting.

YES. Any loss of signal from the O2 sensor (what happens when you unplug it) will put an OBD1 or 2 car into open loop (once normal operating temp has been reached) The car starts out in open loop (ignores O2 sensor data) until the O2 sensor and/or engine a has reached a predetermined "normal operating temperature" at which point O2 sensor data is used to "check" both fuel mixtures and EGR functionality.
