Default New guy, want feedback!

Hey everyone, I am new to the board. I just bought a 2000 Saturn LS1 with 58,000 miles from a local saturn dealer. The car manufacture date was 06/00. I have read a lot on here about problems with the 2000 LS1, but I am wondering did recalls take care of these problems? So far I love my car, it is quick, the 5 speed manual transmission is smooth, and i love the style. Whats out there for performance mods for the 2000 LS1? Hook me up with any information i should know.

Thanks,

Andy

Welcome to the board and congratulations.
You should still have factory warranty on it, so take advantage of it, if you need to.
Otherwise, "If it ain't broke..."
Mods, you say? Well, I'll pass. Browse the forums, you'll find plenty of info.

Congrats! All I can do is second what somedude said...browse away. These forums are great. You may want to check out the TSB database online, too....

Not sure if you have a factory warranty, though...pretty sure it's 3 yrs, 36,000 miles...maybe our neighbors to the north get a different deal, or it's in kilometers?

Thanks for the information. As for a warranty, i dont have the original left, but the saturn dealer gave me a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty, so i thought that was pretty cool.

You shouldn't have many of the first year bugs, as your build date is late into the 2000 model year. A few weeks after yours was built 2001s were rolling off the line.

The L has had no recalls that I'm aware of.

An assortment of Technical Service Bullitens, but nothing serious enough to warrant a recall.
