Question Drivers side rear door actuator not working......2nd time. ??????

Ok guys I have a 2004 Saturn Ion level 1 and my drivers side rear passenger door will not auto lock or auto un lock . I have to manually lock/unlock it. I purchased a used door lock actuator off Ebay $30.00 and I installed it myself double checking the installation and making sure the connecter was on nice and tight. After I installed it the new/used actuator is not working so im curious if that actuator is faulty or if im not getting power to the rear door? How would I test this out and what wires would I test or which connecter would I send power to test that door actuator? Any ideas or anything im over looking??

Test for power at the door with a multimeter.

Check the wiring harness from the body to the door for broken wires.

FWIW, the same thing happened at my left rear door several years ago. Believing that the actuator had failed, I purchased a new one and following its installation discovered that the door lock still did not work. There was a break in a pair of wires within the wiring harness between the center pillar and the door. Of course, this is where all of the flexing of wires occurs within that harness. Some years later my speakers in that same door lost power for the same reason. The wiring was repaired and worked satisfactorily for some years afterwards. Eventually, however, the repaired segments broke again. Long story short......I went to a wrecking yard and pulled a harness from a donor car and installed it and all is working normally.

Thumbs Up Re: Drivers side rear door actuator not working......2nd time. ??????

I will get a tester and test the wire harness to see if power is makig its way to the acuator. If not then I will inspect that wire harness between the door and pillar. Sounds like a plan.
