Default question on fender removal for l100 series

Hi I am new to this but can tell there is a lot of information on this website. I am trying to replace both front fenders on my Saturn. I've taken everything on the top out but the bottom is still connected. Do I have to take the long black panel off in order to release the panel and how do I do that. Thanks for any help

You mean the door running board? Yes, under there after you remove the plastic push pins there are two screws holding on and in the door jam by the mirrors are single screws holding onto the support for the fender and also at the front where the bumper and grille and fender meets there are also screws there and you won't see the until you remove the side lights or remove the front bumper and you will see how it is attached. There are hidden screws so don't just force it out or you will be making some very expensive fender purchases and painting them to match your Saturn color get a Haynes or Chilton and read up on body removal don't just do "Midnight Mechanics" on your Saturn. As parts are hard enough to find but parts from GM dealer will not be cheap should you have to go to them.
