Okay, first off, will a DOHC manifold fit on an SOHC downpipe?

Next, do the SOHC pistons have high and low compression types like the DOHC? I would imagine they wouldn't.
If I used a dished valved 92 head with 91 SOHC pistons, what compression would I have? I know it would be low (8.5:1?).

Also, I know the 91 and 92 have different crankshafts than the other years, will a 92 DOHC PCM work right with a 91 SOHC crank?

...
-96 SC2 gets 35 mpg mix city/hw.

I know that your manifolds will bolt up to your downpipes, Im pretty sure of that.

99+ SOHC pistons are actually DOHC pistons on 99+ fracture rods. But that doesnt concern you. Your c/r will be about 8.5-8.8:1.

Not sure about that crank thing. Id do a 91 pcm

About the PCM, I know that for sure that it WONT fit, 1991 sohc is different. the cranks are different, i suggest using the pcm that came with the engine, or really do your research, i kinda had that problem myself, i put a sohc 1.9l out of a 2001 saturn into my 1991, i used a 1994 auto transmission, but i had to use the pcm from the 1994 on my new engine because the cranks from the original 1991 engine is different from the crank on the 2001 engine, dont get confused when i say i put the 2001 engine in it, i used the 1991 manifolds on the new engine so its basically runnin like a 1991w/ TBI(i think) rather than with fuel injectors. lemme knoe if you have ?'s ide like to answer them befor any mistakes or damage are made.i could refer you to some other people on here if ude like

Well I have parts for someone who wanted to do a headswap in their 91, but they spun a bearing so they are putting an entire DOHC engine in there instead. Thanks for the info though.

91 and 92 have identical cranks. 93 plus have a diffrent trigger wheel. Any crank will "fit" in any engine the only diffrence is the trigger.
