ok, people have told me to drill holes in the exhaust tube and feed the sensor through that so its still reading.

Now if your sohc runs well like mine, go find yourself a dohc to race, im after beating multiple different sl2's n sc2's. Don't mind all the sohc bashing.

makes me happy
I also beat a black sc2 with an exhaust, a maroon red sl2 with a true cold air but no exhaust, and multiple stock sx2's and i love the look on their faces when the sohc pulls ahead

you are really the only person who thinks the stock cat is high flow, xup. the design may be, but the ID/OD are restrictive. modern cars run fairly clean anyways. are you an environmentalist all of the sudden?

what i cant race/like cars and be a and care about the environment?

im not the only one that thinks its high flow, for a stock cat it is very high flow. but removing it imo is stupid and irresponsible. it will net u next to nothing while showing that u don't care about the environment or the law.

edit: internet says 8.6. therefore, all saturns are slow.

i think the stock cat is hi-flow.

i thought it was a nice looking install, tho.

also, as much as i like my sl1, i don't think there's one out there that can beat my sl2. if you're ever in my neck of the woods, you'll have to stop by for a grudge match...

yes i know the cat is high-flow, but my car was at 83k and the average car needs a cat replacement every 100k. so i just said screw it, even higher-flow and i save 100 bucks.

Or maybe, You live in a state where you dont have emissions testing. I live in AL. No emissions testing. No laws having to do with a Cat that I know of.

yes the design is high flow but the ID/OD is whats restrictive. emissions here is Missouri doesn't actually involve a smog test for OBDII cars. all they do is hook up a reader and make sure there aren't any o2 or EGR codes being thrown. it would be quite easy to remove the cat entirely and just buy one of those $5 o2 chips that trick it into thinking there is still a cat, then passing "emissions".

i opted for a Magnaflow cat, instead tho. i am installing that and the 92 header next week, and will post pics/video.

if you get the race style one it's longer and no place for it... there's things you can get to simulate the right signal, not sure how they work though
it'll keep you from throwing a code and make your engine run right. don't ask me what they're called or where to get them, i've just read about people using them, i think it was on someone's turbo setup or something

Taking off the catalytic converter sounds like a good idea. But do you have to deal emission testing in your state...? Im thinking about doing the same thing to mine but i don't know if i'll pass emissions here in AZ.
